- Project put on-hold because of audio in movies. Tested with sound of PS2 and PC version. 1) Without any changes, 4XM ADPCM player plays with "clicks" on too loud parts (this problem appears in ~30% of the videos. Really bad. 2) Normalizing with peak at -2db solves the "clicks", but audio in the introduction video gets strange glitches, real bad. It may or may not happen on other videos (LOGOS and TRAILER don't have this problem. This glitch can't be reproduced on emulators or PC 4XM player. 3) Videos with uncompressed PCM plays on emulators but don't play on DC (freezes at black screen forever). Possible solutions: 1) Use 44khz stereo for every video, and work and test case by case for videos with anomalies. Too much time. Extra info: - This game needs the LBA 45000 trick or it will freeze after selecting a character. - 4XM with audio other than 44khz doesn't work fine (pitch change). - .XA files are actually .AFS files, so you can shrink them and save ~46mb. - All voices inside .XA are 22khz mono, downsampling them is not recommended. - Best source for video: (surprisingly) DC 4XM. PC version (RAD) are not cool and PS2 version (MPEG-2, game only launched in Europe) are bad encoded. Best source for audio: PS2 (PSS audio format 48khz). - Not every video is available in PS2 version, use PC audio instead (better than 4XM ADPCM crap). - Audio of 3 versions matches in volume and synchrony. - Videos of 3 versions match in the name. - Use PSS Demux for PS2 videos and RAD Video Tools for PC version. - Original file order is not optimal for Dreamcast. I kept a preliminar optimized in the project directory. - 6~7mb can be saved re-linking redundant files. - Video don't need to be downsampled too much, quality still gets pretty cool. - There are some videos only with the text "VIDEO NOT DONE YET" (or something), apparently you can delete them. - I haven't touched disc 2. - This game keeps checking second session start when loading some animation in-game. It would be nice to break protection and put it ahead. Other notes: - Why does this 4XM player apparently have more glitches than Headhunter's? Weren't they supposed to be the same?
